Flying FOOLZ Meeting Minutes
July 11, 2017 at Coyote Rojo
Attendees: Steve Flynn, Karen (Peaches) Jones, Curt Morehouse & Deb Beach, Bill & Karen Sharpe, Jan & Gary Emrick, Jim & Pat Connell, Roger Evans, and Steph Bensinger & Sue Vartanian
Meeting called to order 7:35pm.
May Minutes approved as written. (June meeting did not have quorum.)
Treasurer Report – Vic Chewning (via e-mail)
- The club assets are now $15,263.60
- $11,829.01 is designated for scholarships
- $5233.90 committed for scholarships this year
- Rusty Swartzfager for an advanced rating scholarship (Instrument) in the amount of $2,748.90 (33% of $8,330) to be applied toward an instrument rating.
- Michael Jenkins for an advanced rating scholarship (Instrument) in the amount of $2,475 (33% of $7,500) to be applied toward an instrument rating.
- $6605.11 available for future scholarships
- added $57.58 from Pampered Chef fund-raiser in May
- $5233.90 committed for scholarships this year
- $3351.59 is for operating expenses
- Reimbursed Peaches for March Fly-in expense (original check was lost)
- Renewed domain name for FOOLZ website

New Business/Announcements
- Discussed how to let scholarship winners know how to request their designated scholarship money (for their instructors). Asked Scholarship Committee chairwoman Deb to call a meeting and have the committee put something in writing that can be sent to each scholar.
- Upcoming fly-ins:
- Triple Tree (www.tripletreeaerodrome.com) October 6-10, 2017
- Triple Tree (Woodruff SC) is also hosting a Total Solar Eclipse Fly-in on Monday, August 21st. (Total eclipse starts about 2:30pm.) See website above for details.
- CANCELLED August Meeting
- Since many board members will not be able to attend on August 9th, we decided to cancel the August meeting (scheduled for Beef O’Brady’s).
